“Akasha is such a wonderful doula! I am so very glad that we hired her to assist us during the birth of our son. She was friendly, well informed, and helpful leading up to the birth, and at the birth she was a calming, empowering, and encouraging presence. I remember her speaking in a low calm voice and telling me everything I needed to hear as well as helping my husband know what to do. Oh and her hip squeezes are the BEST! When we arrived at the birthing center and things got chaotic, she did an excellent job helping me get back in my zone. Her suggestion that we NOT go power walking at that moment (which my pushy nurse was strongly suggesting) saved me much agony because I had become tense and she could see that I needed to reset and get back in my zone rather than climb stairs and power walk. As it happened, I had my baby 3 hours after arriving at the birthing center without any power walking. The best part of labor were the peaceful moments with just my husband and Akasha speaking encouraging words to me and letting the beautiful process of birth happen naturally.”
