YOU WERE PERFECTLY DESIGNED AND CREATED TO BIRTH.

You were perfectly designed and created to give birth, but…

We live in a fallen and broken world, and unfortunately, our bodies are no longer in their perfect design.

Sometimes, they need a little support to eliminate labor challenges.

Let me share how I got here.

In 2018, I became a doula. In 2019, I launched the Birth Restored childbirth education course. Since that time, I have supported hundreds of families with prenatal childbirth education and doula support.

As a labor doula, I would see a mother walk into labor fully prepared. She had taken my Birth Restored course, prepared mentally, and was relaxed and confident during her birth. Birth would go so smoothly and would be a wonderful 10/10 experience.

At othertimes I would see mothers walk in with the exact same preparation. The same confidence in her body, great mindset, and staying relaxed through her birth, however, it would require so much more physical effort than the other mother.

I had prepared the mothers equally to the best of my ability, and the mothers themselves had put in the work. These mothers even walked regularly and were in overall good health.

Looking back at my own three births, I wondered why my body seemed to birth with more ease than many others. Yes, mindset preparation, the ability to relax and surrender are HUGE, but there was a missing component.

That’s when I learned about biomechanics and physical obstacles in the body that create misalignment and tension, making labor require much more effort than it should. By the grace of God, I had unknowningly been working through my own physical obstacles and tension through my at-home workouts.

How do 1-1 Prenatal Birth Alignment Assessments help?

There are many things in life that pull our bodies out of alignment and because the body is so smart, it compensates well.

We can be out of alignment due to the nature of our job. Some of us sit a lot which causes tension in our psoas and often underactive glutes.

Some of us played sports, did dance, rode horses, read lots of books, etc. Repetitive movements or postures often pull us out of alignment or cause tension as the body compensates for the hobby.

Some of us have taken a fall, been in a car accident, injured our knee, sprained an ankle, or hurt our back. These injuries can limit our range of motion or cause the body to have strong and weak sides.

We could go on, but it is safe to say if you have been alive on this earth for long, you’ve probably experienced something that caused a compensation. For me, my most difficult compensation pattern came after having my third child.

The constant carrying, nursing, standing with a baby on one hip, etc caused much forward shifting, limiting my glutes, creating pelvic floor pressure, and taking a toll on recovery.
